i feel bad that yesterday i didn't include a photo of the little lady (who has no name), so here she is in the background, very timid. she isn't our only lady, we also have 'chooky 1' that is an isa brown that we purchased about 3 yrs ago. i'm going to be sad to see them all go but i know that they'll be happy staying here where they are comfortable and we'll also be getting new baby australorpes soon after leaving. i just need to find someone that can sex them for me so that i don't end up with roast dinners instead of egg layers.
here are my two boys that i received as christmas pressies. obviously they weren't supposed to be boys but lovely ladies who would produce lots of eggs, but we only ended up with one of those. i have however become quite find of these guys & tolerating their crowing because they're quite dashing & friendly. naturally i have named them..'bb' on the left & 'stumpy' on the right. we're hoping the new owners of our house will love & care for them just as much as us. mind you if we stayed much longer, i think at least one would of ended up as a roast.
the capsicums in the garden...the whole 3 of them, are bending & snapping under the weight of these lovely sweet things. they all haven't gone completely red yet, but i had to salvage what i could to ensure the plant wouldn't completely die. i'm thinking of making some salsa out of them...great on nachos, which we haven't eaten in ages.we currently have growing;silverbeet, last of the pumpkins, eggplants & chillis, peas are just getting a bit of height, brocolli is in full swing & sweet potatoes.
